Since October, the new, energy-saving cleaning pads from haid-tec have been being tested in the branch of a leading European food retailer: the PinkPowerSaver Pads. The result: the running time of the battery-operated cleaning machines and the service life of the pads could be significantly increased. With a literally brilliant cleaning result!
DUGA Building Cleaning and Services GmbH from Gersthofen is responsible for the maintenance cleaning, special cleaning and interim cleaning of well-known food retailers in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The pad with the striking pink top is now always with you when the DUGA cleaning staff go out for basic and special cleaning throughout southern Germany. Since October, for example, the PinkPowerSaver pads have been tested in a branch in Donauwörth and checked for “resin and fiber”.
On the go with the “Barbie Pad”
According to Gary Deigentesch, division manager at DUGA, 60 employees have already gained experience with the new pad. “There are around 40 different nationalities represented among our employees – a true multi-cultural group; Therefore, after a short time, a nickname was established for the haid-tec PinkPowerSaver Pad, namely “Barbie Pad”. “It’s much easier to say,” says Deigentesch and laughs. Not only is it easier to say. Handling is also extremely easy. Attaching to the drive plates is done in seconds. But what is even more important for the facility manage: the cleaning results are good, even though the machines’ motors are put under less strain.
Gary Deigentesch says: “Our cleaners clean the entire market in the morning. However, there are also daily staff on site who, for example, clean the fruit and vegetable department when it is restocked. This means that a few more square meters are added during the day.”
The result after a two-month test run is: The running time of both the single-disc machine and the automatic scrubber could be extended with the help of the PinkPowerSaver Pads. “With the MelaminePlusPad you could work with the cleaning machine for around 1.5 hours without interruption. Now the employees can easily manage two and a half hours on one battery charge,” says the facility manager.

Better water flow, less abrasion
Thanks to the special combination of melamine resin foam with polyester scouring fleece, the PPS results in less abrasion and the water flow is better. The engine is put under less strain, the batteries are protected and the machine therefore runs longer.
The test also revealed that with an operating time of 60 hours per month (between two and two and a half hours a day), the PinkPowerSaver Pad could achieve an area output of over 75,000 m2. For comparison: The area performance of the MelaminePlusPad is on average 15,000 m2 or around 10,000 m2 for a very rough floor covering. This means that the service life of the pink energy saving pad is five times longer.
Gary Deigentesch is pleased about this: “As a division manager, I obviously have to keep an eye on costs. As a rule, a property manager visits each branch once every 14 days. Now he only has to change the pad once a month. If I convert that to 750 branches, that’s an incredible saving!”

The DUGA division manager, to whom 15 property managers report, has therefore already decided to switch to PinkPowerSaver pads in all food retail branches for which he is responsible. His conclusion: “I was always very pleasantly surprised by the MelaminePlus pad and we used it in all of our properties, but I am really excited about the new pad.”
The battery runs longer
The energy-saving pad was developed with regard to the requirements of cleaning service providers, who are increasingly under cost pressure. Purchasing an expensive machine with a more powerful motor can be avoided by using the PinkPower Saver Pad.
